Ch6. Choices and leaving.

Kyo lifted his head up off his master's chest, he looked up at the wolf and smiled. As he laid back down the thought of what he saw earlier made him a little worried. ‘I have to talk to him tomorrow.' He said to himself before slowly closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

Kyo woke up later in the morning to find that Icewaver had already left to go attend to the guards. He got up and headed down to the bathroom to find that Talons was down there. Once stripped of his clothing he walked over and sat beside the other human and started to scrub down. Talons looked over to his side and smiled once he seen Kyo. "Morning."

Kyo looked over and nodded but he didn't smile back. "Umm... talons. Can I ask you something?"

Talons pat Kyo on the back. "Of course you can. What's on your mind?"

Kyo looked sternly at his friend. "Why did you look pissed last night in the guest room?"

Talons smile faded quickly as he moved away. "Kyo I have to tell you something but you can't tell anyone especially the wolves." Kyo nodded as he understood. "I hate them." Shock went through Kyo's spine as he heard this. "I hate the fact that these damn dogs can use you like... like a pet." Other people started to come over and agreed with him.

"They shouldn't own us." One man said.

Talons nodded. "That's why we plan on leaving soon." He stared at Kyo. "Do you want to come with us when we do?" Kyo looked down at the floor and didn't know what to say. On one hand everyone was right that they shouldn't be owned, not even by an animal but Icewaver had been good to him. Besides the one incident he never even hit him. He was actually starting to be happy to be with the wolf and the thought of leaving the wolf scared him but something did cross his mind.

"What about the guards that stand watch outside?" he asked.

Talons smiled. "Just leave it to me."

Too many thoughts were going through Kyo's mind that it was starting to hurt his head. "I...I."

Talons placed his hand back on his shoulder. "Don't worry about it kid. Just take some time and think about it, if you want to stay you can but I think it's best if you come with us." Kyo nodded as he watched Talons get up and walked off to get a towel to dry himself.

The rest of the bath Kyo couldn't help but get the feeling that something was going to go wrong if they try to escape. Then he remembered the girl from the auction that was killed instantly while trying to run away. Kyo finished drying off, and then he headed back to the room to start packing his masters cloths for the trip. Once he opened the door the smell of food instantly hit him. Kyo looked to see Icewaver sitting at the table with a plate in front of him but off to the side a little was a spot for one more. Once the wolf saw his slave walk in as he smiled and gestured for Kyo to take a seat beside him. Kyo slowly walked over and sat down.

Icewaver smiled. "I went to get some food after my meeting from the Inn and was hoping you would still be hear when I got back."

Kyo looked at the floor. "Sorry master I wasn't here when you returned. I figured since you were gone I would go get cleaned up."

The wolf pulled Kyo close. "Don't be sorry. Let's eat I'm starving." Kyo smiled and the two started to eat.

"Umm... master what cloths did you want me to pack for you?" Kyo asked while cutting up the Stake for the wolf.

Icewaver leaned back into the chare as he and looked up at the ceiling. "Just pack some of my nice clothes for the banquets and some for just playing or exercise." Kyo made a mental note on what was needed as he finished cutting up the meat and sat back to watch the wolf start to mow down on it.

"Eat up pup..." Icewaver said.

Kyo sat there and looked at the food. ‘Why am I being treated so different. I know I have a master that treats me like a pet but even then I'm treated more kindly.'

After eating a fourth of his food Icewaver looked up at Kyo and saw that he hasn't touched his food.

"Pup is something wrong?" Icewaver asked.

Kyo looked up at the wolf for a moment then turned his gaze back down at his plate of food while folding his hands into his lap. "No master." Was all that he could say as a respond.

The wolf moved more closely to Kyo as he placed an arm around him. "No there is something bothering you and I want to know what it is."

"Master why am I so different?" Kyo asked.

Icewaver tilted his head to the side. "What do you mean?"

Kyo looked up at the wolf. "Why do I get to sleep in a nice bed while others don't? why do I get to eat better food a..." Kyo didn't finish as Icewaver placed a paw over his human's mouth.

He leaned closer to Kyo so he can whisper into his ear. "It's because I care for you deeply. You are my pet, my pup, and I never want to see you sad again or hurt. I will do everything I can to make sure that you will never be hurt by anyone." He licked the side of Kyo's face as he leaned back. "You are a slave yes but that doesn't mean that you have to be treated like one on a daily bases. You see where I'm coming from?" Kyo nodded his head. "Good, now if there is nothing else then I would like to see you finish your meal." Kyo smiled as he started to eat.

‘How can I leave someone who cares that much for me?' Kyo thought as he glanced over to the wolf beside him.

Kyo had a bag on the wolf's bed as he started to pack some clothes into it. He held up the black pair that his master loved so much. ‘He would definitely have to wear these.' So he neatly folded them and placed them into the beg. It took Kyo about 2 hours when he got done with all the packing most was his master's since all he had was the same type of pants every time he changed made it easier for him.

Once Kyo was done packing he walked into the common area of the bed room where Icewaver was reading some letters. He walked in and stood in front of the wolf. "Master I'm done packing, is there anything else I can do?"

Icewaver looked up at him and smiled. "You can come over here and lay down if you want." Kyo blushed as he walked slowly over to the wolf and lay and on the couch near him. The wolf looked down at him and smiled. "Lay your head here." He said as he pat his left leg, Kyo blushed even more as he scooted closer and laid his head down on the wolf's lap. As Kyo laid his head on the wolf's lap he couldn't help but smile as he felt Icewaver's warmth and it wasn't long till the wolf was back to reading and stroking the human's hair.

As Kyo laid on his master that he realized that he liked the feeling at that moment, it wasn't the feeling that he was being owned but that he might be more than a slave to his master. Kyo looked up at the letter that his master was reading but couldn't read a single word. He looked up at the wolf and smiled, Icewaver looked down at his human and smiled widely. The wolf set the letter down and moved some of Kyo's hear out from his face as he moved Kyo near the edge of the couch so he could lay down behind him. "You don't know how happy I am that you are my pet."

Kyo looked into the wolf's bright blue eyes. "I'm happy that you are my master." It was at that moment that the least thing happened that Kyo thought would. Icewaver leaned down and pressed his lips against Kyo's, Kyo's eyes widened as his master's lips was against his. He looked up at the wolf and saw that his eyes were closed and he let out a little moan.

‘what is going on, what should I do," so many thoughts was going threw his head. After some time Icewaver broke the kiss and leaned back. His smile faded when he opened his eyes to see the look on his pet's face.

He reached out and rubbed the side of his cheek. "Pup I...I." The wolf got up and ran off to his bed.

Kyo got up and quickly chased after him and found that the wolf was lying on his stomach with his face in his pillow. As he moved closer to the bed he could have sworn that he heard that the wolf was crying. Kyo sat at the top of the bed. "Master what's wrong?"

"Why am I such a fuck up?" the wolf said as he continued to cry.

"Master you are not a fuck up." Kyo responded as he reached over to Icewaver and pulled him close so that the wolf's head was on his chest. "You are the most perfect creature I have ever seen in my life." Kyo wrapped his arms around the wolf as he held Icewaver.

Icewaver started to cry harder. "If I was perfect then why can't I keep a mate, or why is it that my family looks down at me so much." Kyo looked down at the wolf with sad eyes. "I try so hard to make my dad so proud of what I do but all I get is why I can't be more like my asshole brother."

Kyo placed his one of his hands on Icewaver's head. ‘He tries so hard to be recognized by his dad, that's way too stressful for him.' Kyo starts to rub behind his masters ear which in turn the wolf started to nuzzle into Kyo.

"Then I pull that shitty ass move by kissing you." At the mention of the kiss Kyo smiled as he continued to scratch the wolf's ear.

"Master I didn't mind the kiss. You just surprised me was all." Icewaver looked up and seen the human's smile. He wiped his muzzle with his arm as he laid his head back down but he still was crying a little. "Master it ok." Kyo said as he started to rub the wolf's back.

The two stayed that way for a little more than an hour, Icewaver ended up getting tierd from crying and fell asleep on Kyo. Kyo just sat on the bed as he stared down at the wolf until he heard the door slowly open. The same human from before that hit Kyo in the hallway on the way to dinner. The man looked around to see if there was anyone else in the room before he entered and headed for the bed. Just as he was about to speak he caught a glimpse of the sleeping wolf and froze. Kyo quickly put a finger up to his mouth to signal the man to be quiet.

"What are you doing here." Kyo whispered.

The man bowed. "I'm sorry for how I acted earlier." He stood up and walked around the bed so he was closer. "My names Cloth by the way. Talons wanted me to come and see if you made a decision on leaving." He whispered back.

Kyo looked down at the wolf sleeping in his arms. "I can't." Kyo responded.

Cloth got an angry look. "Why because that mutt made you his bitch." He pointed at Icewaver. "Fine stay here and rot." He turned and quickly jogged off out of the room.

Kyo looked back down at his master and started to have tears roll down his eyes. ‘I just can't leave someone like this.' Kyo laid back and tried to get some sleep himself.

Kyo ended up not getting any sleep but he didn't move from his position one bit as he kept his master in his arms. The thought of being hated by the other slaves because of his choice to stay started to upset him. ‘Did I make a bad choice, no I didn't, but I could go home, this is my home.' All the thoughts were jumbled in his head to the point he was starting to tear out of stress.

Icewaver woke up with a smile until he looked up and seen the look on his pup's face. "What's wrong." He said as he sat up on his hands."

Kyo looked at his master and tried to put on a smile. "Nothing master." Kyo slid from underneath the wolf and started to walk off.

"Are you sure pup." The wolf asked, Kyo just turned around and smiled.

"Yes master, I'm going to go clean up a bit." Icewaver nodded and Kyo was off into the other room.

‘What's wrong pup.' He thought to himself.

The rest of the day went on as always from cleaning and taking laundry down to playing with Froshen. The only difference was that all the slaves hated him 100 times more than before and they weren't afraid to show it from giving him very little to eat to kicking his bucket of soap water over and left him to clean it up. Things like that was happening to Kyo so much that it was really starting to get to him to the point that he almost yelled at a wolf that called for him.

After getting permission from his master to go walk in the gardens Kyo was finally alone. The wind blowing threw his hair felt good enough for him that he forgot all that has happened to him today. He found a tree and sat at the base of it and just let his thoughts wander. ‘Have I made the right chose?' he stared up at the sky and watched the clouds float by.

"Enjoying yourself slave?" Kyo jumped up and looked at the wolf that was talking to him. One he saw who it was he quickly bowed.

"Yes sir I was." He didn't look up at the wolf as he thought he was in trouble.

Galle sat down against the tree and gestured for Kyo to sit and the human did. "I can tell that you have something troubling you." Kyo looked up at the wolf slowly. "Mind telling me what it is."

Kyo sat down on the ground but kept his eyes on the ground. "Sir have you had to make a decision that you were asked and you made a one but not sure if you were correct."

"Hmmm..." The wolf leaned back and smiled while looking up to the sky. "Yes I have to make those choices almost every day being Alpha and all." Kyo started to laugh a little as he realized that was a dumb question to ask him. "Ok so let me get this straight, Talon has asked you to leave with him and the others and you decided to not to." Kyo looked up at the wolf in shock. "Look kid we might be animals but we are not dumb asses. We knew that he has been looking at maps and watch records for a while and figured that he was going to try and pull something off like running away." The wolf pointed at Kyo. "And I had a feeling that he was going to ask you sooner or later and by the look of how the others are treating you, you said no."

"If you knew about what he was doing then why haven't you done anything sir?"

The wolf patted him on the shoulder and smiled. "Who said I haven't done anything." Kyo had a worried look, Galle seen this and wrapped one of his arms around him. "Don't worry about anything kid, I already told Icewaver and he has everything almost ready except a big part is missing."

"Big part?"

The wolf nodded. "We have no clue when they plan on leaving."

Kyo sat silently and looked up at the wolf but before he could say anything the Galle put his paw up and stopped him. "Ok you will need to let Icewaver know."

Kyo looked back at the ground. "Umm...sir dose he know that Talons want me to go too?"

Galle nodded. "Yes he does and you have no clue how happy you made him when you decided to stay by his side." Kyo smiled up at the wolf and saw that he was smiling back. "He's also excited to go on the trip tomorrow and that you're going with him."

Kyo giggled. "Yeah he's been talking about it nonstop."

The wolf laughed. "Yeah tell me about it. At the meeting the other day that was all he could talk about, couldn't get him off the subject for shit." Galle stood up and motioned Kyo to follow. Kyo got up and walked beside the wolf. "I have a favor to ask you before you go back to Icewaver."

Kyo looked up at the wolf. "Yes sir."

The wolf's expiration was serious. "Whatever happens tonight you had nothing to do with so don't let it bother you ok." Kyo nodded. "One more thing, don't tell Talon or any other human that we know what they are planning tonight." Kyo looked down at the ground but managed to give a small nod. "Good now back to your master." He gave him a shove and Kyo walked off back to his master's room.

Kyo walked into his master's room and looked around expected to find the wolf but there was no sign of him. "Master you here." Kyo yelled but got no answer. He walked in to the bedroom but still no sign of the wolf. As he walked into the room he heard the closet door creak as the door opened a bit, Kyo moved slowly up to the closet and reached out for the handle. The door flew open and all that Kyo could see was fur as he was gulfed up into the wolf's arms and was squeezed hard.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you." Kyo looked down and couldn't help but smile as the wolf.

The human tapped the wolf on the shoulder, "Master I can breathe." The wolf Tossed Kyo onto the bed and jumped on him as he wrapped him up into a hug once more. "I'm glad you decided not to try and leave." Kyo started to scratch the wolf behind his ear.

"If I left who would take care of you." Kyo giggled.

Icewaver looked at his slave with a grin. "Oh so it's you that is taking care of me. In that case get cleaning then."

Kyo gave the wolf a small hug. "Yes master." He said as he got up from underneath his master and started to walk into the next room.

"Oh pup." Icewaver shouted.

Kyo stopped in his tracks and turned around. "Yes master."

"Did Talons mention when they were going to try and leave." Kyo looked at the floor as he froze in his thoughts. Icewaver got up off the bed and walked up to the human and placed his hands on his shoulders. "Pup, listen. It's important that you tell me when they are going to try and leave. I know you don't want to but if you don't then things could get a little out of hand with the other slaves." He reached down and placed his paw under Kyo's chin and lifted his head up so they were looking eye to eye. "Please."

Tears started to roll down Kyo's face. "Tonight." He manages to say.

Icewaver stared at him harder. "Do you know what time?" Kyo just shook his head. "Ok thank you." He turned Kyo around and motioned him to the door.

‘Was it a mistake to tell him?' Kyo thought to himself.

The rest of the day went on as normal, Kyo cleaned all the way till supper where he escorted Icewaver and stood beside him to give the wolf his meal as it came in. like the night before Kyo was laying on the floor wrapped in Icewaver's arms while the wolf talked with his family, it had been a long day that he ended up falling asleep. When he woke up he saw that he was going down the hall way but he was not walking. He looked up to see that Icewaver was caring him.

"Umm...master I can walk." Kyo said quietly.

Icewaver looked down at him and smiled. "I know pup but you looked so cute when you were asleep so I didn't want to wake you." Kyo blushed as the wolf got to his door and sat Kyo down to open it. "Come on pup we need to get some rest. Tomorrow is going to be a long day." Kyo followed the wolf to the bed and got in to try to fall asleep quickly for the trip is the next morning.

It was late that night as the guards stood watch at the small building where the slaves sleep. The two wolves were telling stories to each other of things that they did when they were younger. It wasn't long on their shift that one of them heard a banging sound on the other side of the small house.

"Brounsen, you hear that." The one wolf asked.

Brounsen perked up his ears. "Yeah I did, I'll go check." He said as he grabbed his sword and walked around the corner. As he got to the opposite side he didn't see a thing. "Damn these long nights are really taking a toll on me." He said as he stretched his arms over his head. He turned around to head back but something hit him in the face enough for him to fall over. Once he comprehended what happened he looked up to see a slave over him with a big stick in his hand. "You little..." the wolf couldn't say anymore as the human swung it once more to connect with the side of Brounsen's face knocking him unconscious.

It was enough noise though for the other guard to run around the corner. "Brounsen what's going on." When he got to the wolf he stared at him as his anger started to rise. He looked around and drew his sword. "Where are you?" he sniffed the air but for some reason he couldn't pick up any scent but his and his friend. He sheathed his sword and walked over to help his comrade, as he bent over he soon felt pain on the back of his head. As he turned his head up ward to look he saw the slave on the room dropping another object on him.

The human jumped down and looked at the two guards. "Worthless animals." And then he spit on Brounsen before walking to the window of the house. He broke it and poked his head inside. "Ok were good let's get going." And about twenty slaves all got up and scrambled out of the building and followed the human to the side of the wall where there was a small opening that they slipped through. They all kept moving until they made it to a small river that runs through the town and stopped.

Kyo felt a hand covering his mouth as he slowly woke up to see Talons kneeling at the side of the bed. "Shh...don't wake up that mutt." He slowly moved his hand from Kyo's mouth.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

Talons smiled as he stood up. "I'm leaving. I just wanted to at least say good bye."

Kyo sat up on the bed and let his master's arm drop off of him. "You can't leave, they will catch you."

The human shook his head. "No I have this..." he held out a jar that had a cream inside it. "The wolves can't track us with it on." He smiled and gave Kyo a hug. "Good luck kid, and don't worry about me I'll make it back to my home." With that he quietly left the room, leaving Kyo on the bed as he laid back down but unable to get some rest for a while due to concern of his friend.

Talons met up with the others at the river. "Everyone here that wanted to leave?"

The human walked up and nodded. "Most of them. We only have about twenty here."

Talons nodded. "Well I guess that freedom is ours then." He said as they all started to walk down in the river using the water to end the trail for the slaves that didn't have coved themselves with the cream. They got to a mile till they were out of town and they ended up passing a couple of dozen wolves as all looked good. Talons and the others couldn't help but smile as they could see the edge of the town in view. They made their way to a small stone bridge as they all got under to take a small breake. "Ok once we start moving again then it's a straight shoot to the woods and then were g..." Talons stopped talking as he heard the marching of wolves above them once the sound has faded he continued. "Golden. Ok lets go." He turned and took a step heard a snap in the mud. He looked down and seen a stick once he realized what happened it was too late.

Out of the mud in front of them a net flung up and blocked the exit. "Shit. "One of the humans yelled as they turned and started to run back. One of the others stepped on another stick that triggered another net that came up and blocked the other exit. Talons and a couple of slaves were stuck under the bridge, he tried to yank on the net to see if he could get it louse but it was no good. He stared as his friends were running down the river until he heard a howl. He looked at the edge and saw that there were wolfs on the roof tops and sidewalks of the river.

"They were waiting for us." Talons said quietly. All the wolves were equipped with bows and they all drew them. His eyes widened as he saw all the wolves took aim. "No wait." He yelled but it wasn't enough as countless arrows came flying down and striking down those who were trying to run. Talons fell to his knees and started to cry as he saw all of the others lying in the river motionless.

The net behind him fell down as wolves came in grabbing everyone and dragging them to the top of the bridge. Everyone but Talons was screaming and telling the wolves to let them go. Talons was on his knees when he saw a pair of foot paws stop in his vision, he slowly looked up to see Galle looking down at him. Talons looked down at the ground. "Go ahead and kill me."

The wolf laughed out loud. "And let you go Scott free into the next life. No I think I have a different punishment for you." The alpha looked at the other wolves that are standing behind the other slaves. He nodded once to them and the wolves all lifted up their swords and trusted them down. Talons closed his eyes and looked away. Galle crouched down in front of him. "I think that for you to live and that you were the cause of all their deaths is a good punishment for you." He smirked. "After your lashes of course. One for every slave." Galle stood up and started to head back to the palace. "Bring him for now. We'll deal with him first thing the morning."

"Yes alpha." The wolves said as they started to drag Talons back to the palace.
